Super Linen Dress Shirt

Hello everyone, this is Oomichi. Thank you, as always, for your continued support of Kamakura Shirts. In this feature, I’d like to introduce our “Super Linen Dress Shirt.”

We created this special linen shirt with the theme of enjoying a refined, dressed-up style—even in the heat of summer. While 60-count yarn is typically used for high-end linen shirting, this piece is made with even finer 70-count yarn, woven at high density to produce a fabric that is both delicate and tightly constructed — resulting in a beautifully refined finish.

Taiki Omichi, Men’s Collection Director
Born in 1992, with roots in both Kyushu and the Kansai region. He began his career in shirt planning and production straight out of university, and has held his current position since 2024, overseeing the design and development of jackets and shirts. While he has also ventured into bespoke tailoring and embarked on journeys to explore the origins of clothing as a personal pursuit, he now finds himself grappling with a deeper question: perhaps true masculinity isn’t defined by clothing alone.

The first collar style is the button-down collar. Instead of using a traditional floating interlining, we’ve intentionally chosen an ultra-thin fused interlining. This gives the collar a light feel while allowing it to stand up with a sharp, clean line. When worn without a tie and with the top button undone, the collar forms a beautifully natural curve.

The second collar style is the spread collar. This design also uses a thin fused interlining. To pair well with classic tailored jackets, the collar points are made intentionally long and prominent. Even so, thanks to the lightweight fabric and interlining, the shirt maintains a natural, easygoing look when worn without a tie, giving off a refined yet relaxed impression.

Linen is gaining attention as an essential fabric for the summer season, thanks to its excellent absorbency, quick-drying properties, and natural antibacterial qualities.

From the careful selection of the finest French linen to the design of every detail, each choice was made with one consistent goal in mind: to enhance the elegance and sophistication of a dressed-up style.

We invite you to experience what we believe to be the ultimate dress linen shirt.
