SIZING – MEN

We have a fit guide explaining all of our different fits and their measurements here.
If you already own one of our shirts, check the label which provides your size in both inches and cm.
If you do not own one of our shirts, we recommend getting a tape measure and going to our measurement page to learn which one of the styles in our fit guide suits you.

Sizing differs across brands. Compare the measurements of your shirt to our measurements on our fit guide to find your closest match. Please contact us with your measurements (height, weight, neck, sleeve, chest), the brand, and the size that you usually wear.

Originally, we only made the Tokyo Fit, our standard model.
Our New York fit was born from a need to accommodate taller sizes while still preserving the slim and classic body types.

We have custom order, “Made to Measure” in which find a shirt size that is closest to your chest size.
We then make necessary adjustments; which include: neck size, sleeve length, waist size, shoulder adjustments, etc.
Estimate time is about 3 weeks (delivery time included). Please contact us if you will like more information.

Our shirt measurements should be accurate to our fit guide within a 2% margin of error.
We also include this amount for shrinkage.

SIZING – WOMEN

Our size system is: 34 (XS), 36 (S), 38 (M), 40 (L), 42 (XL), and One Size.
You may choose your size based on what you typically wear.
However, please note that these sizes are typically made for the average Japanese women.
See #2 below to see the different types of shirts we have available.

We have 4 different fit types: Slim Fit, Classic Fit, Over-Size, and International.

Slim Fit: Form-fitting type that beautifully outlines the curves of the body to give a nice slimming effect.

Classic Fit: Looser fit and can be worn both tucked in or untucked.
Not as form-fitting as the slim fit, but still gives a sophisticated look.

Over-Size Shirt: A straight front and voluminous back gives the wearer a refined look from the front,
and a relaxed breezy look from behind.

International Shirt: “A shirt that anyone can wear regardless of nationality, age, or gender.”
A luxurious silhouette allows the wearer to personalize it to meet their own style.

GARMENT CARE

We recommend a cold-water wash with no abrasive chemicals, hanging the shirt up to dry.
Linen, especially, is best left to dry in a shady place.
Applying heat in context other than ironing leaves your shirt at risk for shrinkage beyond the standard variation.

Yes, our shirts have up to 2% shrinkage with cold water washing.
We have factored this into our measurements, and shirts fresh out of the bag include extra fabric for shrinkage.

While an experienced dry-cleaner should be meticulous with our shirts, not every dry cleaner is the same.
As such, we cannot condone dry-cleaners universally due to variations in practices.
We are not responsible for any potential damage to our shirts at the hands of a cleaning service.

All of our shirts will require a little bit of ironing, even our “Easy-Care” TRAVELER wrinkle-resistant shirts.
Our wrinkle-resistant shirts are much more resilient to winkles, but may require a light press once in a while, depending on how the shirt is stored/kept. Please take a look here: TRAVELER

Denim is a twill fabric made with indigo dye. This runs the risk of bleeding on any fabric that is not similarly toned, and will fade with wear. This is to be expected and encouraged, as unique fading of denim in pressure points (such as is seen at the knee in jeans) gives the textile its hard-wearing and unique character.

ORDERS AND SHIPPING

If you have an account with us, please log in and check the fulfillment status.
If it is "Unfulfilled", we might be able to cancel it.

If you do not have an account with us and have not received a shipping notification, we also might be able to cancel it.
If it says "Fulfilled" or it has shipped, we cannot cancel the order.

Please contact us with your order ID and the product IDs of the items that you would like to change to.
Please note that we cannot make any changes to your order once it has been prepared for delivery.

Unfortunately, our current warehouse does not combine shipping after orders have been placed separately.

All orders are shipped from Japan.

We ship to most countries. For more information on our shipping destinations, please click here.

This will depend on which delivery service you choose:

Standard Shipping (EMS) - We will not cover import duties and taxes placed on your parcel.
If import fees are placed upon delivery, it will be your responsibility to pay these charges when asked by your local authorities.

Express Shipping (DHL) - We will cover import duties and taxes placed on your parcel.

Depending on the service, we say from two to five business days. It may take a little longer depending on where you live.

You may track your order by using the tracking number that was emailed to you when the order was dispatched.

We have no control over a shipment once a package departs our warehouse.
Please contact your elected postal carrier to try and locate your package or pursue a claim.
When ordering, please make sure to provide a deliverable address.
If there are any issues with delivery for such reasons out of our control, we are not responsible for shipping delays or missing packages. contact us should you require any further assistance or additional information.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

We only accept items in unused, ready to sell condition with all tags attached.
You may read our return policy and start your return here.
Additionally, any return must be requested within 14 days of receipt.
If you'd like to return an item, please begin the return process as soon as possible.

We do not offer exchanges other than store credit, unless it is a sizing issue. This applies to gift items.

We will respond to your inquiry within three working days.

We try to restock our signature collection shirts weekly. Other than that, we have new arrivals every week.
Please follow our news and Instagram for information on new arrivals.

Please contact us with the product ID and the size of the item you are looking for.
We will get back to you regarding its availability.
There is always a chance it we may be able to find it in one of our local stores in Japan.

Unfortunately, as of right now, we do not have any plans on adding more sizes.
However, if a size is in high demand, we may improve our variety. We would love to hear from our customers.

Unfortunately, our current warehouse is unable to provide gift wrapping.

Unfortunately, we do not offer this service at the moment.

We offer this service for 15 USD per shirt.
Please note that it takes about a week for the alterations. Please contact us if you are interested.

We list the product ID on each product page.
The key aspect of a given product ID usually consists of the first 6 characters.
This may also be found on the inside of any shirt, usually running along the left seam.
The collar label only shows the size, not the ID.

REWARDS & MEMBERSHIP

We offer a free to join, point based tier membership that earns points per dollar spent.
These points can be converted to $50 off coupons in 5000 point increments.
A breakdown of tiers may be found at the end of this article.

If you are already have an in-store loyalty account with us, please activate your online account by using the same email address you registered at our store.
If you are new to Kamakura Shirts entirely, please sign up online.
To keep track of your points, please log in and view them under your account tab.

Select the "Redeem Points" option after clicking on your point total, located on your account page.
If you have enough points, you can redeem them for a code that will give you $50 off. One code can be applied per order. You may also provide this code for in-store purchases. Your point balance will go down upon code redemption, but the discount code will remain available here until you apply it to a purchase.

Approved: The points may be successfully redeemed.
Pending: These points need to be verified before they may be redeemed. This applies to specific purchases and referrals.
Cancelled: The points will not be added to your account, such as when cancelling an order.

It can take a few minutes for us to process your activity and provide your points.
If you believe there is an error on your account, contact us.

Not directly. Please redeem points first for a code to apply during checkout.
