Regular price $190.00Sea Island cotton is the origin of all extra-long staple cottons and the reigning top-quality cotton used to be cultivated in the Caribbean, but was discontinued in the early 20th century due to devastating insect damage.
A century has passed since then. Thanks to modern agriculture, technological advances, and research into cultivation methods, Sea Island cotton has made a comeback in a limited area on the border between Texas and New Mexico in the United States. This "miracle cotton" was named "American Sea Island Cotton."
The border between Texas and New Mexico is the site of the revival of the cotton industry, provided an ideal environment for cotton cultivation.
We are certified by BCI (Better Cotton Initiative), which sets standards for sustainable cultivation of cotton.

*Please note:
Shipping was a nightmare and it's not true to size at all. The chest is too tight and the waist too loose.. but I checked carefully against garment sizes comparing to the RL shirts I own so I am very surprised. I won't buy this brand again.
Normally, I’d spend some time with the product before reviewing its attributes, but I felt it safe to comment on some of the finer points. First, the shirt right out of packaging, went onto the ironing board. This shirt is a dream to iron, and takes very little effort to remove creases. Understanding that this is a washable wool; in other words, the wool has been ‘superwashed’; there are positives and negatives to consider in this processing, but in this case, it has allowed for a material to produce a sheen, unlike that of untreated wool. The shirt, drapes, beautifully, and the Tokyo fit is a nearly a tailored finish for my frame. I think these shirts will be all-around ideal for all seasons except for the summer, and for travel; with changing temperature conditions, will be optimal.

The sleeve shortening option is essential. How else can one get a neck and sleeve fit correct? So thank you. Is this service available for all of your Vintage Ivy OCBD's?
