The so-called “Ivy” style began with students at American East Coast colleges experimenting with sportier, dressed-down versions of gentlemanly British wardrobes. A perfect example is the unstructured jacket, which takes the sturdy fabrics and classic silhouettes of a British sports coat and makes it more casual with light construction and no shoulder pads. Kamakura Shirts’ version of this jacket is based on the preferred style of university students in the Fifties, coming in Japanese brown herringbone wool tweed or a navy flannel. Both can be dressed up with proper slacks and a necktie or dressed down with jeans. All of the details are pure Ivy: natural shoulders, a narrow three-inch lapel, a three-roll-two front closure, no front darts, a patch pocket on the chest, patch-and-flap side pockets, and a center hook vent at back.

*Please note:
Bought the navy wool blazer with the brass buttons in 40. Other than getting used to the sizing difference from J.Press it was too notch customer service, quality and craftsmanship all the way to the end.
I was a bit reluctant to make this purchase because I couldn't decide whether the Medium or Large would be the best fit. For items like this, I would normally buy a Medium. For reference, I'm 6'2" and 165 lbs. After going back and forth - and reading that this garment is intended as an overshirt - I decided on the Large size. Lucky for me, the fit is perfect. It's not too big. It drapes beautifully, and the design, with its simplicity and clean lines, is exactly what I was looking for. I'm hard to please when it comes to clothing. Purchasing online is even more daunting. Ordering internationally without a return policy felt like a real bet. However, I made the bet, and I'm very happy that I did. I've had it for less than a week and have received multiple compliments from multiple strangers, which is unusual - more of a testament to its beautiful simplicity.
Quality Oxford shirt fits well feels well in good price
A truly excellent shirt. Flattering in fit without being overtailored, sturdy yet breathable cloth and immaculate quality of detail and finish. A premier garment that thoroughly justifies a premium price; I shall be sure to buy another!

This shirt is another work of art. Looks fantastic and is just a super cool shirt. As I mentioned in another review, I ordered a full size up.
