Regular price $150.00Sea Island cotton is the origin of all extra-long staple cottons and the reigning top-quality cotton used to be cultivated in the Caribbean, but was discontinued in the early 20th century due to devastating insect damage.
A century has passed since then. Thanks to modern agriculture, technological advances, and research into cultivation methods, Sea Island cotton has made a comeback in a limited area on the border between Texas and New Mexico in the United States. This "miracle cotton" was named "American Sea Island Cotton."
The border between Texas and New Mexico is the site of the revival of the cotton industry, provided an ideal environment for cotton cultivation.

*Please note:
Apparently, I am NOT a 161/2-34 in this Tokyo Slim Fit. The sleeves are at least 1” too short. Looks ok when your arms are at your side, but the moment you extend your arm to shake someone’s hand, the sleeve rides up. I emailed Kamakura Shirts asking for a solution, stating that I travel to Japan annually and always wanted to try this shirt brand as I would likely buy more. Also, it would appear, that a 161/2-35 is not offered. So FAR, no one has replied to my email.
This is my favorite shirt for day to day use at the office. It is very soft and has no flashy details. The blue tone is very light (which I prefer). I use it with a navy suit and tie or with a navy chinos. I also need to give credit for the shipping. I ordered it to Norway on a Thursday and it was delivered on Monday. Will order again.
6 button front is the correct number of buttons for an American button down shirt. The previous review is incorrect and should be ignored.
Hard to find a wide blade knit tie like this. It's absolutely beautiful and goes great with a navy blazer.
Another excellent shirt from Kamakura! The fit and finish of this OCBD is outstanding. It’s difficult to find men’s shirts in ecru. Few shirtmakers (in the USA) offer this color.
Shipping was fast. Overall, an easy and pleasant buying experience.
Thank you!
I was looking for a jeans with a wider cut than my old slim fit jeans which I am now tired of. The Ivy 5 pocket is the ideal cut for me, it is straight and roomy without being baggy. After the first whash it shrank about 1/2 inch at the which I counted on, now it fits perfectly.
