Regular price $490.00The so-called “Ivy” style began with students at American East Coast colleges experimenting with sportier, dressed-down versions of gentlemanly British wardrobes. A perfect example is the unsconstructured jacket, which takes the sturdy fabrics and classic silhouettes of a British sports coat and makes it more casual with light construction and no shoulder pads. Kamakura Shirts’ version of this jacket is based on the preferred style of university students in the Fifties, coming in Japanese brown herringbone wool tweed or a navy flannel. Both can be dressed up with proper slacks and a necktie or dressed down with jeans. All of the details are pure Ivy: natural shoulders, a narrow three-inch lapel, a three-roll-two front closure, no front darts, a patch pocket on the chest, patch-and-flap side pockets, and a center hook vent at back.

*Please note:
I am 6'0'' and 170 pounds and (in a size L) the shirt was too small after a wash. The sleeves, in particular, were comically short. I offered the shirt as a gift to my friend who is 5'9'' and 165 pounds and it was still marginally too small on him. You should not purchase these shirts if you are these heights or weights. Still, I leave five stars because the quality of the shirt is top notch, and, ultimately, this sizing mistake is my own error due to a lack of research. Do not make my mistake!
Material is amazing and the quality is worth it. However, I recommend sizing up from your normal shirt sizes. The arms are too tight. If you are a guy with big arms and shoulders, size up. Your chest size wont matter.
Best shirts your money can buy (especially during sales). Make sure you understand your sizing though.
