It was the first time for me to buy Kamakura's spread collar shirts. I have always loved the cutaway collar, but recently, no combination of the cutaway collar and double cuffs was available. Therefore I ordered two of this.
The spread collar is not bad, but the point length is too short. In my opinion, a spread collar is more elegant when the points are covered by the jacket; the points of this particular collar are not so. Spread collars with exposed points may be considered fashionable in some pars of the world, but do not complement an average gentleman's visage as well as a generously large one does.
In addition, the interlining of collar band is fused to the outer side, unlike the Kamakura shirts that I had previously purchased.
Other than the collar, the shirt is well-cut and well-made per usual.
From the cloth to the fit and the last detail, Kamakura Ivy are the real deal. Very pleased with the shipping.
I’m 6 foot 215 and I usually a wear a 16/16.5 slim fit. I ordered the size 42-86 in Tokyo slim and the sizing is PERFECT. Not too tight but a very flattering fit. I wear all different designer brands and the quality on these is just as good especially at this price point it’s a bargain compared to what’s out there. I bought 10 different shirts and they’re not my new go to shirt that I can wear dressed up with a suit or a pair of jeans. Huge fan!
I ordered this and one other shirt. I'm 6'1" 175, athletic build, the 41 fits like a glove (maybe a hair on the small side–I won't dry them). For being 100% cotton they're super soft. Stitching is perfect. Most of the shirts in my wardrobe are cheaper than these, but for a classy occasion these are worth the price.
