Very high quality. Sleeves on the short side be mindful.
I really was taken by the brown, blue, and white colors of the shirt. But when I got the shirt, I found out how much I like the fabric and fit. I am 5’9” tall and 186lbs, and the fit is close without being snug. Just the way I like it.
Fits perfectly, well constructed, fantastic fabric. It’s exactly what I was looking for. I would buy 6 more of these so I could wear them every day if that wouldn’t be weird.
The first thing that you notice is the lovely material: although unlined, there is nothing flimsy about this jacket. Then, when you try it on, you realize that the cut is fantastic: the collar and the drape are particularly good. This is one of those garments that look much better on than they look by themselves (always a sign of quality). The colour, too, is even nicer than in the website's images.
I hesitated between an M and an L, and finally went for an M. I believe it is the right size for me in width and length, although perhaps the sleeves on the L would have worked better for me lengthwise.
I expect that this will look better and better with age, and cannot wait to see how it patinates. It really is head and shoulders above other jackets of this kind.
Beautifully made, nice fabric and very nice shade of pale blue. I was a bit unsure about sizing, so I contacted customer service with my measurements (and a couple of other questions). The response was quick and very helpful – I was advised to get a size 42. Still a bit skeptical, I decided to order two sizes, 42 and 41, and the 41 fitted perfectly out of the bag, so I sent 42 back. However, after washing the shirt, it has shrunk just that tiny bit to make me regret my choice. It is not unwearable, but the 42, after shrinkage, would have been perfect, just like I was told. The shrinkage is very clearly indicated in the size chart to be 2%, which I think is completely normal, and if you do the math (I didn’t) that equates to a little less than one full size at the chest (3% between 41 and 42). So, in conclusion, the sizing issue was 100% my own mistake, but now I know exactly what size to get next time.
I would love to see more options available in the NY classic fit (or “untucked”), especially when it comes to collars (there is of course the possibility of MTO). The “sport” looks great for less formal button-down. One option that I can’t find, even in MTO, is a casual unlined point collar - this would be very useful too.
