This tweed jacket showcases the distinctive texture and color palette unique to homespun fabric. While it retains the characteristic neps and warmth of autumn and winter, it is designed with a more restrained brushed feel.
The brown base color is intricately blended with a hint of beige, creating a thoughtful and modern hue that avoids being too rustic. Additionally, the fabric is soft and supple, thanks to a natural soap washing process that enhances its inherent gentle texture.
The jacket pairs perfectly with classic wool pants for a traditional dress style, but also works beautifully with corduroy or denim, highlighting the unique texture of the fabric. Layering with a turtleneck in a matching color adds to its sophisticated appeal.

It isn't easy to find a fine-gauge cotton sweater, and this one is great. My husband and I (F) both bought multiple sweaters. The fit is relaxed like in the picture, and the waistband allows you to cinch it higher on your hips.
Pros:
- The color for the green and navy sweaters was exactly as shown
- It really does resist odors
Cons:
- The description says to hang dry after washing, in our experience this caused the sweater to stretch. I would suggest drying flat instead.
- There was some variation in the actual size of the garment, the navy we received was smaller than the green.
Wonderful quality as always from Kamakura, with the amazing attention to detail the Vintage Ivy collection is renowned for. A true classic and sure to become a staple of my winter and autumn wardrobe.
I recently picked up the French Work Jacket Kamakura and I'm very impressed. The quality is excellent, and the fit is spot-on—it has that perfect slightly baggy, relaxed workwear silhouette. Highly recommend for a comfortable and stylish jacket!
