In the heyday of Ivy fashion in the 1960s, untipped ties was common, but today such tequnique is decreasing year by year. Although it lacks the fluffy finish characteristic of hand-rolled blades, the machine-stitched edge, though uncommon nowadays, imparts a practical and earnest impression. High-quality, lustrous silk is utilized, with the sheen being tempered through steam application. As a result, the luster is reduced and it goes well with Ivy jackets made of matte fabrics.
