Unconstructed jackets are one of the traditional Ivy details, but they are lightweight enough to be easily adopted by those who do not usually wear jackets. The canvas has been eliminated as much as possible, and cupro is applied only to the sleeves and shoulders for easy on/off.
All of the details are pure Ivy: natural shoulders, a narrow three-inch lapel, a three-roll-two front closure, no front darts, a patch pocket on the chest, patch-and-flap side pockets, and a center hook vent at back.
Crazy Madras checks appear frequently in summer Ivy style. Originally, the pattern was sewn together with a lock sewing machine. However, this made it uncomfortable to wear and the threads were prone to fraying. Kamakura uses crazy madras with no seams. Thanks to 21st century. You can wear without worrying about it.
