Was originally excited to purchase from Kamakura.
In fairness, the shirt is well-constructed. The stitching is very tight, and many little details (buttons, reinforcement, etc.) is well done.
I purchased the shirts after having someone take my measurements and, importantly, seeking the input of a representative of Kamakura. It was recommended to me by the Kamakura representative to purchase the shirts in New York Slim fit a size smaller than what my measurements and gut said.
Upon receiving the shirts, I was disappointed to learn that they were a bit tighter than what I was hoping for. Under the pecs and the shoulders were just tighter than anticipated.
The most unfortunate part is the return policy. While knowing that return shipping is to be the responsibility of the purchaser, upon inquiring with various shipping companies, I quickly realized it is cost prohibitive (well over the cost of a single shirt) to send my not-quite-right shirts back to Japan from Canada.
Ultimately, I’m now stuck with several beautiful shirts that don’t fit exactly right.
Purchasers take the fit and sizing with a grain of salt.
